Introduction

Recently, Mojang made a vital and highly requested change by the community: a retexture of Spawn Eggs! In this article, I will cover everything new, its impact, and more!

New Eggs

After the addition of the two chicken eggs, no one expected a complete reskin of the spawn eggs. This has been widely appreciated by the community, as it was a highly requested feature. The list of modified eggs is… ALL OF THEM!

However, some have not been changed, such as the NPC eggs in Minecraft Bedrock. Additionally, some eggs remain unseen unless you use commands, like the robots from Minecraft Education Edition.

Impact

This update could be a major step toward the long-awaited reskin of enchanted books, a feature that has been even more requested than the spawn eggs. Previously, it seemed unlikely since it wasn’t very "Minecraft-like," but now, with the egg retexture, it's highly probable that Mojang is considering updating the enchanted books as well.

Other Changes

Besides the new textures, Mojang has also introduced a personality system for wolves. There are now eight different personalities that determine their sounds, pitch, and growls. I love this change—it's unique and unexpected! It seems like Mojang is aiming to make significant aesthetic changes to the game.

Apart from these changes, the latest snapshots have introduced a new biome-based system for sheep. Now, sheep will have a different color depending on the biome they spawn in. I really like these changes, but… some things, like blue sheep, feel a bit odd to me. Still, I appreciate the additions.

Conclusion

Overall, I love these changes. Mojang is transforming many aspects of Minecraft, making it feel like a completely different game. That’s all for now! We'll see if next week brings new updates or if we start with the pre-releases.

See you later!
