Introduction

Recently, Mojang surprised us with the new chickens in Minecraft! In this article, we'll cover all the new additions and their features!

New Chickens and Eggs

Mojang has officially added two new chickens: the Cold Biome Chicken and the Warm Biome Chicken. These chickens come with updated textures—one featuring a blue-purple color and the other a warm orange shade.

Additionally, Mojang has introduced two new eggs to address the inconsistency of having only one egg type. With these new eggs, players can now spawn chickens of any kind!

Spawn Zones

The new chickens can be found in specific biomes based on their temperature:

There is no specific spawn percentage, but it will be similar to the usual spawn rate of the original chicken. Additionally, these new animals will not override the original chickens' spawn percentage.

On which platforms can they be found?

For now, they are only available in Minecraft Java, specifically in Snapshot 25w06a.

As for Minecraft Bedrock, they are currently not available, but they may appear in Minecraft Preview in a few weeks.

If we estimate their release in the official versions, they will likely arrive in early spring, as this update is intended for the spring season.

Possible Predictions

For the upcoming snapshots, we can anticipate that Mojang might aim to revamp a few more animals. Previously, they updated pigs and cows, so they could now focus on another animal or, more likely, revamping another biome.

Aside from animals, Mojang has been updating deserts and forests, adding leaves, flowers, cactus flowers, bushes, dead bushes, and more.

Honestly, I think it's more likely that we’ll see a few more environmental changes rather than a full new reskin, as they have now finished updating all the OG animals from version 1.0 (excluding hostile mobs).

Conclusions

Honestly, the best thing would be a couple more snapshots with solid content, but who knows what Mojang has in store for us.

That's all for today—thank you very much, and see you later!
